72% of our atmosphere is made of nitrogen
100% of our proteins have nitrogen in them
100% of our DNA or RNA nucleotides have nitrogen in them
Atmospheric oxygen has a triple bond between two nitrogen atoms.
Our human bodies cannot split the nitrogen bond into usable nitrogen. Nitrogen needs to be "fixed" so that it can be incorporated into amino acids and nucleotides.
Only bacteria and extreme chemical reactions can split the triple bond and connect nitrogen with hydrogen and/or oxygen to make it biologically usable.
After I compile the plastic pages, I will write a story of how nitrogen gets from the atmosphere into our bodies.
